THE BEST SPRING AND SUMMER SHOE TRENDS 2018
Spring shoes worn on the runways included everything from folk to fishnet, silver to see-thru. Here, we take you through some of the most wearable trends for summer shoes and spring shoes.
1. Strappy sandals
Pretty, feminine sandals are a style staple for spring and summer. Heel heights varied from the silver kitten heels on show on the Sacai runways to the towering four-inchers of Altuzarra. Choose whichever height you feel comfortable in – they’re all on trend this season.
2. All white
Lots of designers chose to finish off their spring and summer looks with white shoes. The good news is, these go with most things in your wardrobe and immediately provide a fresher, cleaner feel which is perfect as the weather warms up. Try with cropped pants or summer dresses.
3. Silver shoes
Silver shoes can be the perfect accessories for a whole host of occasions, from summer weddings to dinner parties. We particularly loved the classic, sparkly court shoes from Victoria Beckham. We’ll be wearing silver shoes for summer and they’ll take use through winter for festive parties.
4. Kitten heels
Many of us now find the four-inch heels of our younger days uncomfortable. The good news is that kitten heels are giving sky-scraper stilettos the boot (at least for this season). Given that kitten heels were also a big trend during the 1990s and 2000s, lots of us probably have some lurking at the back of our wardrobe already! Go on, dig them out!
5. Go West
Cowboy boots were all over the runways for Fall 2017, and they’re still sticking around for Spring. Not just for Southern girls, they’re surprisingly versatile. Tuck your jeans into a pair, or wear with a sundress.
6. Flower Power
While we saw some far-out designs, including floral straps wrapped all the way up the leg, there were lots of wearable floral shoes on the catwalk. Invest in a pair of floral boots now and they’ll see you through to autumn, or wear pretty flowery sandals with summer dresses and pants.
7. Mule it over
We love the casual look of a mule. Just slip a pair on, and off you go, looking as if you haven’t tried too hard, but are just effortlessly stylish.
8. Brogues for women
Flat, comfortable, and trendy! What more could we want for casual everyday wear.
Brogues look great teamed with jeans and cropped pants. To be totally on trend, look out for white or silver brogues, or those with embellishments.
